Hands & Feet Drawing Skills Workshop

One-Day Skills Workshop

Sunday 7th February 2027

10:30 am - 4:30 pm

The Wellbeing Space, only 3 minutes walk from Macclesfield Station.

If there is one thing that comes up in every Life Drawing class I teach, it’s the struggle to draw hands and feet. So let’s come together and tackle this problem area with a full day dedicated to them. You’ll leave with clearer processes and practical tools you can use straight away.

‘I attended the Life Drawing Skills Workshop at Now, Draw! in Macclesfield.

Susannah is brilliant, her valuable insights and professional advice were really helpful. Her demonstrations and feedback were excellent during the session, which helped massively when trying to learn different aspects of life drawing such as; observation, proportions, scale and techniques with different tools like pencil and charcoal.

The Wellbeing Space is warm and welcoming, making you feel at ease the moment you enter and only a 3 minute walk from Macclesfield train station.

I dropped art as a hobby almost 16 years ago and have been on the fence about life drawing for many years - I wish I had attended one of Susannahs workshops/sessions sooner and have already booked a ticket for next week! Highly recommend for all levels!’

-Drew, participant in the last in-person workshop

This day is designed for:

  • All levels of experience. We’ll start from the basics and build up. I tailor my feedback to your drawing needs.

  • People who draw regularly but feel they’ve missed key foundations or would like a refresher

Maybe you:

  • Have never drawn before and don’t know where to start

  • Always neglect the feet and hands

  • Like your Life drawings but feel the hands and feet look a bit weird

  • Get bogged down with details

Join me, Susannah, for a practical, supportive one-day workshop covering the core skills of drawing from a professional life model (in person, not a photograph).

We’ll work through:

  • Which materials to use

  • How to break down forms into simple shapes and volumes

  • Proportion, foreshortening and simple measuring

  • Negative space

  • Basic anatomy

  • Gesture

  • How to use mark-making effectively

Through live demonstrations, one-to-one guidance, and plenty of drawing time, you’ll develop a clear starting process you can return to again and again.

Basic materials* are provided but feel free to bring your own.

*easels, boards, paper, charcoal, pencils, pens, erasers etc

Arrival The session is from 10:30am - 4:30pm. Please arrive around 10 minutes before the start time so you can be buzzed in, settle yourself, and get set up ready to begin at the start time.

Lunch break It is advised you bring a packed lunch but you may go out for lunch.
