At Now, Draw!, I focus on anticipating and responding to the needs and aspirations of each learner, whether you're just starting to pick up a pencil or are an experienced artist looking to challenge yourself.
Drawing is about discovery, and there are so many exciting ways to explore it. If you're interested in mastering comparative drawing- understanding proportions, adding a sense of gravity to your model, working with tonal contrasts, or considering how the model exists within the space of the background- I'm here to guide you through that process. Alternatively, if you're looking to loosen up and experiment with different techniques, I’ll help you find the freedom and fun in your art.
Sessions are always structured with purpose, but they're also relaxed and filled with humour, because I want you to enjoy the process as much as I do.
You can read what previous learners have said about their experiences here.

-
Absolutely. Beginners are very welcome at the weekly life drawing sessions.
We will also run beginner-focused courses throughout the year for those who’d like a more structured introduction.
-
Life Drawing sessions usually follow this structure:
We begin with a 10-minute pose to ease into drawing
A series of shorter poses (2–5 minutes)
Gradually longer poses of 20–40 minutes
A break halfway through for refreshments and to allow the model to rest
-
Basic drawing materials will be available to use during the class. These are loaned for the session and must be returned at the end. Your drawings, of course, are yours to keep.
You’re welcome to bring your own. To help care for the space, please use dry drawing materials only - no ink or paint. Solvent-based paints or thinners are not permitted.
You are welcome to bring a portable easel.
If you’re unsure whether something is suitable, please email me in advance.
-
Now, Draw! aims to foster a friendly atmosphere. However, while the model is posing, we ask that you avoid chatting out of respect for the model and fellow drawers. Please use your best judgement.
-
No. To respect the model and the space, please keep phones away and do not take photos during the session.
You can take photos of your own work during the break and after the session. Please use your best judgement.
I may occasionally take photos during sessions to help promote Now, Draw!. If you’d prefer not to appear in any photos, please email in advance and this will be fully respected.
-
Please arrive around 10 minutes before the start time so you can be buzzed in, settle yourself, and get set up. Sessions begin promptly at the start time.
-
Tea and coffee will be available during the session. Alcohol is not permitted, and we ask that no food is eaten in the space.

The Wellbeing Space is a light, calm studio designed for yoga, wellbeing classes, and creative workshops. The room is airy and thoughtfully arranged, with plants, soft lighting, and a variety of seating options.
It’s a quiet space intended for focus and care. Please help us look after the studio by being mindful of noise, materials, and belongings, so it remains a welcoming place for all who use it.
-
The session takes place at The Wellbeing Space, located within a beautifully converted mill.
Please note that the studio is accessed via a set of stairs, and unfortunately there is no lift access.
If you have any access requirements or would like to discuss whether the space will work for you, you’re very welcome to email me in advance and I’ll do my best to help.
There are toilets available for use during the session, and free tea and coffee will be provided.
The venue is just a three-minute walk from Macclesfield Train Station.
